Audrey Hepburn was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Wait Until Dark! We expect no such accolades, but had a great time discussing this classic thriller and pairing an awesome beer from Worthy Brewing. In his book “Danse Macabre” Stephen King states that this film is the “scariest movie ever made” and that Alan Arkin’s character “may be the greatest evocation of screen villainy ever.” What an honor that is!
We think Wait Until Dark is awesome too, but doubt we will ever be quoted as eloquently. Maybe it is because we spend a good deal of time discussing the nonsense beer measurement that is IBUs, discovering that female cows have horns, discussing some dubious “ninja skills”, inspecting Lee’s Viking codpiece and coining the new phrase “extra-stout status”. Either way, this episode is best enjoyed in the dark.
